Rudy, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, pictured above at 16 months, joined the Excalibur gang over a year ago. Thayer had decided he wanted a dog of his own with whom to do obedience and perhaps herding work. And so, we welcomed Rudy. A dog with pointy ears and no tail is quite an oddity for the Cavaliers. Since Rudy is totally fearless and has an instinct to herd, the Cavaliers wisely never turn theirs backs on him. It has been an interesting time, to say the least. Below is Rudy shortly after he arrived.

Rudy has a few comments about his early training HERE

Rudy has passed the requirements for his Canine Good Citizenship award at just six months of age!

Rudy received his Rally Novice title in July, 2005 at 10 months of age, and a month later finished his Companion Dog requirements!

Rudy is the first dog in the Charleston Kennel Club to gain the Rally Advanced title. He got his second and third legs at the CKC shows in January, 2006. He's come a long way in a short time!
